Vandri Robotics Unveils Jože, a Humanoid Hotel Robot

At MWC Shanghai 2026, held under the auspices of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Slovenian company Vandri Robotics unveiled a humanoid robot designed to serve as a hotel receptionist to the global public for the first time.
The robot, named Jože, is powered by Vandri Robotics’ cognitive speech communication platform, which acts as its “brain.” This platform enables it to listen, understand speech, and respond naturally in more than 60 languages.
The project was presented as part of the keynote address titled “Physical Intelligence,” delivered by Tadej Slapnik, director of Vandri Robotics. During his presentation, he introduced the humanoid robot Jože, which was developed in collaboration with the Hotel Bled Rose specifically for use in the hospitality industry.
The presentation also included the world premiere of a project video, released on June 25, which, according to the developers, demonstrates the groundbreaking use of humanoid robotics in the hospitality industry.
At the Hotel Bled Rose, Jože handles a wide range of guest services. These include greeting visitors, answering questions about the hotel and the surrounding area, assisting with reservations, escorting guests to their rooms, and handling check-in and check-out procedures. In addition, the robot can entertain guests and give presentations.
“We are testing this technology at the Hotel Bled Rose. Our goal is to develop a fully autonomous humanoid robot colleague in the coming months who can operate the front desk independently,” said Tadej Slapnik, co-founder and CEO of Vandri Robotics.
