Kazakhstan and Presight Partner on AI for Transportation

The Kazakh Ministry of Transport has signed a memorandum of understanding with Presight, an AI company based in the United Arab Emirates, to explore the development of a national operational intelligence platform. The goal is to improve the monitoring and management of the country’s transportation network using artificial intelligence, Presight announced in a press release.
The planned platform is to be based on sovereign AI and enable real-time transparency, predictive analytics, and data-driven decision-making. This is intended to increase traffic safety, better protect infrastructure, and strengthen the resilience of Kazakhstan’s transportation system.
“A modern transportation system cannot function effectively without the comprehensive application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence,” Transportation Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev is quoted as saying in the press release.
“Initiatives of this kind will help improve traffic safety, create greater transparency throughout the transportation sector, and take the management of Kazakhstan’s transportation system to a fundamentally new level,” he added.
Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham explained that the company intends to build on its previous experience in Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan has pursued a clear goal of building an AI-powered national infrastructure. Based on our experience supporting the country’s digital transformation, we want to explore how applied AI can contribute to a safer, more efficient, and more resilient transportation network through real-time information and data-driven decisions,” said Pramotedham.
In recent months, the Kazakh government has announced several AI initiatives. These include the construction of large data centers, the introduction of AI applications in the oil and gas sector, and the digitization of key transportation corridors. Through these efforts, Kazakhstan aims to position itself as a regional technology hub.
